Strawberry Tea

Strawberry teas were a great success, Elizabeth was suitably positioned, selling her delicious home made chutneys and jams, to direct passers-by to our tearoom. It was a case of nothing happening and then a ‘bus load’ turned up! Everyone arrived at the same time and they were queueing up the drive to come in. Luckily our merry band of helpers were geared up for the task and a flurry of preparing, serving and chatting ensued to satisfy everyone. We waded our way through all the scones and most of the strawberries, (picked from Thorne’s Farm) and copious dollops of clotted cream. It was a successful afternoon, made possible by all the support and all the helpers who willingly gave their time to make the afternoon enjoyable for everyone. Thanks to all Christine Marshall.
