Happy Birthday Methodist Church
Sunday 28th April 2019 marked the 127th birthday of the opening of Crediton Methodist Church on 28th April 1892. A report from 1892 said ‘’the weather was everything that could be desired’’. Well, that was not true this year as it was cold, windy and drizzly. However, once inside the community rooms it was warm and welcoming and a large congregation was there to hear Rev Graham Thompson, Chairman of Plymouth & Exeter Methodist District, preach at a very enjoyable service. A delicious cake, made by Margaret Kenshole and expertly iced by Meg Ellis, was cut by Rev Thompson and enjoyed by all the congregation with coffee following the service. The icing depicted ‘’Bob the Builder’’ and made reference to the refurbishment project currently being undertaken. Having served the community for 127 years, Crediton Methodist Church is looking forwards to ‘Working Out God’s Love in Crediton’ for many more years to come.
